Teaching and learning

Supporting Cambridge learner and teacher attributes

We are committed to providing a high level of support for teachers delivering the Cambridge Pathway. Our learner and teacher attributes – confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged – are powerful, aspirational and inspiring. They are built into all of our syllabuses and qualifications to ensure they are relevant, challenging and productive.

We provide a wide range of support for teachers so that you can give your learners the best possible preparation for Cambridge programmers and qualifications.

An education founded on these attributes inspires in students a love of learning that leads to success in the classroom, in examinations, and throughout a career. They also create skillful and innovative teachers, with a desire for continuous, professional improvement.

The School Support Hub is a secure support site for Cambridge teachers where you can find a wealth of resources including schemes of work, past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports. You can also talk to our subject experts and Cambridge teachers via the discussion forums. Teachers in schools registered for Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary can access a range of resources using the secure online support sites below.

You need a login and password to access our secure sites. If you do not know your password, please contact the Teacher Support coordinator at your school.

Learning to learn

Our research shows that good learning habits matter. We encourage Cambridge students to reflect on their learning so that they are able to build on experience and plan ahead. They will be confident, innovative and resourceful, secure in their knowledge yet open to new ideas and opinions. They will also be responsible – to themselves, and to others. These habits lay the foundations for productive study and employment and are actively promoted and encouraged by Cambridge syllabuses and qualifications.

Supporting teacher development

Good teaching is the key to improving students’ performance, and we provide the tools teachers need to enhance existing skills and develop new approaches. We see this as a career-long process and invest heavily in our professional development resources. We hold over 1,000 training events worldwide every year and offer a range of high-quality and affordable professional qualifications. We also continuously update our teaching resources for Cambridge syllabuses and qualifications, to help teachers give their students the best possible chance of success.

Global community

Bringing together a community of experts

Our global community is made up of over 10 000 Cambridge schools in 160 countries, each delivering education that shapes learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills. We connect Cambridge educators, so they can share ideas, views, information and resources, and learn from one another.

We listen to and work closely with our community to bring together the collective knowledge of educators around the world. Learning from our diverse network of experts has shaped our deep understanding of best practice in international education.

Their insight helps us to continually improve, ensuring we can meet the needs of our schools, so together we can deliver the best outcomes for learners.

Nearly a million students in over 10,000 schools

Every year, nearly a million learners from 10 000 schools in 160 countries prepare for their future with an international education from Cambridge.

We actively support Cambridge schools and teachers, helping them achieve the best outcomes for their students. In turn, they give us invaluable feedback from a range of different perspectives – principal, teacher, student and parent – to make sure our qualifications remain relevant, world class, recognized and respected. We regularly review our syllabuses in consultation with schools and universities worldwide to ensure they meet their needs.

Professional and student learning communities

Through our professional learning communities, we connect Cambridge teachers – both online and face to face – so they can share views, information and resources, learning from each other.

With our regular professional development events, we bring experts and teachers together, providing opportunities to expand knowledge and pool experience. Through subject communities and discussion forums on the School Support Hub, teachers and students can collaborate with their counterparts in different parts of the world.

Local communities of schools

We support Cambridge schools to set up their own local communities, run by schools for schools. They work together to share knowledge and best practice in areas such as school leadership, curriculum planning, professional development and teaching. These local communities can support schools new to Cambridge or experiencing change – for example, when they introduce a new Cambridge programmer. Together, they can organize training opportunities and events for students, such as sports day or debating societies.

If you would like to set up a Cambridge School Community in your area, you can contact your regional team. We also support the use of social media to provide a wider community where Cambridge teachers, exams officers, students and parents can share ideas and experiences. We have an active blog, with posts written by education experts and specialists at Cambridge International.
